Hindu squats are the ultimate squat. If you can do 100 then your legs will feel like titanium springs.

              strength

if your trying to build explosive strength or maximal strength there are different exercises. for something like maximal i would holding 'horse' stance which can be found in most forms of martial arts and is a brilliant exercise, simply hold till u cant hold any longer and then keep holding it. it will help if u focus on your breathing. to keep ur mind off the pain that is. in through the nose out through the mouth. for explosive strength i would suggest using a medicine ball or similar weight and doing squats for each individual leg move one leg forward and slightly outside and then push up with force back to standing position with ball in hand. other side, repeat till collapse :P also you could try lying on your back and balancing a weight on your lower legs, then kick it off to a partner, this will speed up your out movement during sparing aswell more info here

i would consider ballet. ballet assists with powerful and hasty leg movement, balance and coordination.
