Are you white asian (chinese, korean, japanese) or black asian (thai, cambodian, philipinos, south east asians/pacific island)? Haha Just kidding bro. Don't sweat the race stuff. That will create self-esteem problems especially if you "feel" limited every time you train. There are tough fighters from all races. Find your own style and work on that.

Number two, the best fighters in the world had their own styles, they didnt try to attain anothers attributes. Ali, Jones Jr, Tyson, Mayweather. Train yourself to fight like, well, yourself, and you will get better, stronger, faster.

Number three, the short answer to your question, yes, with dedication, you can obtain his speed and power. Genetics help a bit, but its mostly hard work.

      Good luck.
that wasn't a very good answer. You can increase your speed greatly with proper technique and conditioning, but no..speed is probably the number 1 thing that IS based on genetics.

There are lots of hard working boxers that never get the kind of speed Pacquiao/Mayweather/Mosely have.

Here is my thinking, you are young, your ego is on the line, and you need a boost to get your head in the game. If someone said what you did to him, his confidence would be shot, and his training would suffer. Yes speed is based on genetics no doubt, most people with common sense know that, but what he is really asking, is "Will I be good if I work hard?". Im not going to kick him while he is down.

What did Ali say? "I was saying I was the greatest, even before I knew it"

        Guy justs wants some confidence.

Train hard man, technique + strength + speed = power

Speed is somewhat genetic, but you can defintely work on the other two. Good luck.

yeah man i thought it as i saw thepost..however u build up speed too..u can improve anything with a proper training .u should know any boxer trains hard and so do the best u can do but u need some genetics.all u can do to distinguish is have ur own style(cs i emproved a lot after this)and use the brain...however white asian or black asian?? eheh after that do not refuse urself and consider u can use the good side of each race. the important is u r not a gipsy(i would burn all dese madafkas) every people has it's own story or its dignity..races are just different ways to be evolution chose

There are plenty of all time great boxers that didn't have any dominating genetic characteristics

they just got as far as they did because they worked hard

JMM, he seems like a normal dude, he has no sparkling traits...he jut works hard

Bernard Hopkins...he should be an old man right now, if he didn't work so hard

again, genetics help, speed helps, but genetics don't mean a damn thing if you don't work hard

Or does alot of it have to with genetics?

No pops you can't, Even he himself could not be as good or the same as soon as he reached your age of 72!!
