I went and watched the guy fight last weekend and he likes to charge in a lot.

What would be a good strategy against that type of fighter

I think i have a little reach on him too.

If you have reach, work behind your jab see what he has to offer then counterpunch his ass. I'd catch that ****er with an uppercut when he comes in.

The charging type guys will be easy pickings if you have lateral movement and a good jab. If its your first fight then he must be new as well if your matched to throw with him therefore he will most likely have limited head movement. The important thing to remember against those guys is to get off quick and get off often. Stop him in his tracks and take a side. Meaning, land a shot or slip a shot, move to either his left or right and start digging. These guys can be tenacious and unforgiving but dont let it bother you. I am sure that you have trained well for this and are conditioned. The one cardnial sin that you dont want to break on these guys is never back up in a straight line. Take a step or two backwards and then take a side and start diggin'. Best of luck to you man, doing this is something that many men dream of doing but you are going in to do it soon. I commend you on your cahones' and go get 'em man, make us here at boxing scene proud.........Rockin'
