nice video. a boxer can't beat an mma fighter at their own game unless you catch him with a good punch. there are too many things involved in that type of fight kicks, punches, grappling, holding take downs and the list goes on and on, the same goes for an mma fighter you put them in a rings and they cant compete because their game is completely thrown out the window. if you get a boxer down he cant do anything especially with boxing gloves, what the hell is he gonna grab with, you know.
over all it was pretty competitive and im a fan of both sport good job

thx for the props and yea it was my first time sparring an mma fighter. Going into the fight i was thinking his whole gameplan was to slip my jabs/straights and shoot at me. I realize now that he wasnt preparing to shoot when i threw hands but rather he tried to shell up. I think i can beat him by pressing with a quick flurry and get out quickly and constantly move.

Good vid, he looks brazilian? you gonna do some more sparring?
I dunno about trying to knock him out coz its only sparring, he looked like he was taking it easy on you on the ground anyway. This vid is probably gonna annoy the purist but I gotta admit if this type of MMA was more available when I started boxing in the early 80s I probably would have done it. Actually I still would if there was a close gym and my knee wasnt f...d.

no to be offensive but it doesn't look like you have boxed much either. Or are you fighting like that on purpose?

Got you good with the head toss. Thing with heavy throws is they work really well when nailed just right, but are really fragile. A lot of them rely on the hips as a fulcrum. Someone drives their hips good in a throw they not only have an effective throw, they can go as far as take the wind out of someone in the process. However, if you can divert the hip or keep them from getting close, you can totally kill the whole throw.

Whenever you get caught in a mount, do not panic. That's the first thing that gets people. You remain calm, you can get out of it. Now, the main reason you couldn't get out of his mount was because he was controlling your hips with his. you see when you tried to buck he wrapped his legs around yours. He had you dead to rights after that. He was fully controlling your hips. What you do is you scooch your hips out the back. you move your hips and shoulders and crawl on your back out between his legs. You can either buck him off at chest level and stand OR just sneak out the back. If you do the later, make sure your elbows are close to the body. Leave your arms out in the open, you're going to lose them.

At the end, you almost had a guillotine before you folded in on yourself (I think that's what you did.). If you had let go of the other arm, stand on the balls of your feet and synch your forearm into his neck and squeezed, it wouldn't have mattered if he took you done, he would've taped.

                Overall good job.

You need to throw more . and youre very square. but then again he was kicking and Ect. In all honestly i wouldnt have sparred like that , I would just told him nothing but straight up punching. Last thing i need is my knee to get ****ed and ruin my training.
