  • Your thoughts on teddy teaming up with Ryan hypothetically

Is teddy trying to be the next trainer for ry Garcia?

Just listened to his last podcast. Teddy is known for breaking guys back down to where they started at , Ryan is no more built up than a green novice, no room to stagnate him. 2) teddy alluded that Ryan needs more faith in himself than in Jesus Christ. After the fight Ryan said he had no experience to be in there with a tank Davis who is a complete fighter. 3) geography: he always harps about this in footwork, where should a fighter be in terms of his position at all times= Ryan needs better footwork. 4) the inside / outside, /big man/ little man nonsense: ",it's easier to fight in close because you can maul and protect, kinda hide, while fighting on the outside you have to keep getting your hands dirty. Also you may be doing well inside as the taller fighter but that's not where one should be, on the outside because the shorter opponent can be kept at a distance with jabs, jabs, jabs, and counter, counter, counter, keeping the small explosive man away. And also too, if you're iń the clinch with longer arms/ usually the taller msn- the shorter guy can basically own you at this range, he may find success Ryan would, but there's a chance that tank can turn that around in a hurry.

So starting from scratch, forcing him to have self belief with discipline and mental toughness instilled by teddy the therapist lol who is oozing with knowledge (,,according to Tim Bradley, and that he came from the school of cus D'Amato) as well as the notion that teddy could help with his "geography" and make decent coin dong it, is Ted vying for that spot? A green kid tall lanky great left hook, fragile psyche, good power, poor footwork, low ring IQ, keeps his head straight in the air, decent jabber, ok inside fighter, fast and packing some pop, but who doesn't listen to anyone from training camp.

Can he teach him a thing about defence? The goose couldn't do nothing for him. Heck he abandoned him right after the fight after saying nice words "Ryan trains himself and he has a great iq doing so. He sees what he sees to do in case it happens yadda yadda yadda".

Just like his promoter de la Hoya, he choked out from not riding with a body shot. Tank is the complete fighter but I see there is a window here for a trainer to jump in like a wizard and change things up for Ryan Garcia. Your thoughts?

Joe Goosen is only a so-so trainer in my opinion.

Atlas does have a ton of knowledge from Cus D’Amato and could help Ryan…but he is also infatuated with the psychological element of fighting and goes way overboard in that direction. For a fighter with any mental fragility Teddy might do more harm than good. See his issues with Donny Lalonde and Shannon Briggs.

Teddy Atlas: "We are FIREMEN! We walk through the fire!"

Ryan Garcia: "I can't, coach. My hair would become unkempt".

I always felt goosen was overrated but Teddy ain't the answer either.

        Robert Garcia is the answer

I like Robert Garcia for Ryan too. Or Freddie Roach as well.

Floyd Sr would be awesome for him stylistically but the personalities probably would not mesh well.

Ryan needs someone to really whip him into mental shape, but Teddy might break him
