Overeating isn’t fueling obesity, it’s too many carbohydrates in our diet, researchers say

Keto/extremely low carb dieting works, sure, but a recent, extensive study found that a low fat diet was equally as effective as low carb. There was zero difference in the outcomes - both were extremely effective. But those things are not even remotely sustainable unless you live as an absolute monk. Drinks after work? No. Dinner at a friends house? No. Olive Garden to celebrate a family event? No.
The problem is processed food, which is fortified with all kinda of garbage, including excessive sugar, sodium, and endless chemicals.Americans started consuming them heavily 70s, around the time obesity really started trending up.
Diet sodas came out in the 1980s. No sugar, no carbs. Millions drink them. Are Americans skinnier now? No? Odd!
Look to the 1940s and 1950s, what did people eat for breakfast? Average office workers, business men, politicians? Bacon and eggs with toast. Kids cereal and toast with jam. Sweet n Low, Splenda, etc didn't exist - they poured pure sugar into their cereal and coffee.
Heaps and heaps of carbs. Bread with every meal. Sugar. Was there an obesity problem then?
No.
Again, every now and then ill find a tomatoe, or avocado that taste like they once did... shiat man, back in the day an avocado was expensive, but what you got! It was creamy, egg yolk tasting, perfect Umami... I mean a ripe avocado is good these days but the taste does not compare... So even when we eat properly we usually do not absorb the nutrition we once did.
Then you have the processed foods. Horrible. Asian kids in San Francisco usually get one good meal a day. You will often see grandma in the kitchen with fresh food... So when they eat processed foods at least they get that one good meal.
And... People are so much more sedentary. Another killer diller!! And ironickly it all equals out because of advances in medicine ans Smoking! Also drinking... When i was a kid growing up this is what people did: You could live in a shoebox... bt guess what? You had a bar in your place... Ive seen whole closets turned to bars growing up. And when you got home you drank and smoked, after smoking all day... You hit late 60's to mid seventies and this is how your obituary read: "Mr Clark of ------- collapsed in his kitchen and did not make a recovery." Stroke, heart... And thats not even all the people that died in fires because their cigarettes burned while they fell asleep....
So, which is the culprit?
