spar hard but wear sparring gloves. I ****ing hate when idiots have either their personal favorite pair of faulty 16's that are either rock hard or simply much lighter than normal. sparring to get better, sparring hard is good - but this is why you wear good headgear and gloves.

We only have 2 guys that we "work" with, everyone else can get it.

Yep its the closest thing that replicates a real boxing match.Nothing else is going to prepare you physically ,mentally and stamina wise

I agree. There is no other way to learn how to maintain your composure. Go to war in the gym and the fights are easy.

I hate hard sparring, but one hard sparring session atleast once or twice in training camp is a must to atleast tell how hard you can go in an official bout, especially in amateurs where it's only 3 rounds and the opponent is trying to take your head off.

i lost my last fight because of that, had a good start where i dropped him twice in the first but i was out of gas to finish him off in the first, by the second round i fought like klitchko, jab hug, jab hug, by the third i couldnt even throw a punch and the referee stopped it because at that point i wasnt even fighting just dodging and clinching.

I would've worked more on my stamina if i knew i couldnt go 3 rounds of high and fast pace, even though i can spar for up to 6, when going semi hard(around 60%)

Good learning experience for me atleast, never slacking off again.

You need to learn how to spar hard without associating it with just expending more energy. This is why technique is important to allow you to move and hit hard without exhausting yourself. Leverage and balance is key as well as breathing.

That was always my problem, putting everything into every punch.
