    Get a heating pad. Don't do any exercise for a couple days.

      I hurt my back a few weeks ago doing lat pull downs. I was also having ongoing foot pain I just couldn't get rid of. I'm usually pretty good at dealing with these things though acupressure and stretching, but wasn't having success. The back pain was making it hard to walk.

      I saw a post about intermittent water fasting (18 hrs a day average) and after reading up I gave it a try and carried on with (it's been 16 days). I quickly discovered that I needed electrolytes (as recommended) because that made things worse without them (more cramping). Almost immediately after adding the electrolytes, I was able to release my back and foot pain and realized I probably had a deficiency of electrolytes in my diet for a long time. Having gotten rid of my chronic pain (the foot pain was a year and 1/2 and walking was becoming a real problem)...my blood pressure dropped to normal (chronic pain raise you BP), and as a bonus I quickly dropped about 8-9 lbs and now have a flat stomach and no obliques. So...maybe try adding electrolytes 4 times a day and find something to lean on and try to release your back muscles. I tried water fasting to get rid of my pains, and it worked for me, so consider that as well (I recommend it).

        What did you take? Pedialyte? I drink that every 2-3 days because I started exercising again.


        Banana smoothies because of the potassium.

          Pedialyte x 4 a day will cost you a fortune if you did it long term...even the cheap stuff would be $150 a month (4 times a day). I did the DIY version which turns out to be pretty high in content: 2 tablespoons of lemon juice with a bit of salt and baking soda equal to maybe a bit less than the size of a crushed aspirin of salt...1/2 that of baking soda in a 250 ml glass of water, and you buy some calcium and magnesium either combined or separately and cut off a small piece (1/2 aspirin size) each...drink four times a day. And when you break your fast daily, have a banana and another one later on. That will cost you next to nothing. I edited my previous post to include that intermittent water fasting is done 18 hours a day (although I initially went 41 1/2 hours)...you can eat after that of course, but your stomach will shrink, so you won't feel like eating a lot so keep it sensible (fruits and veggies/ eggs).

          BTW...if you're NOT fasting and want a really good electrolyte drink, you can't beat chocolate milk with a bit of magnesium (quantity as previously described. That will give you excellent hydration/electrolytes with protein and carbs at a good price.

                Oh ya I got Over it a while ago . Took a week to feel
                better. Still went to work as a carpenter just took it easy. I find the worst thing for back pain is to lie or sit around all day you get too stiff.

                I definitely let my hips drop too low while
                jumping back to the push up position from fatigue . Tried to do too many pretty typical.

                  Wow, forum changed a lot.

                  I just came back after a few years just to look up this same topic. Mine is getting better day to day, but I hurt it the same way.
