    Why doesn't Boxing have a belt system?

    Like how in BJJ or Taekwondo with training and practice you work your way up a belt ranking system from white to blue to black etc. Why doesn't boxing do that? Imagine how bad ass it would feel tell people you're a "Blackbelt Boxer"?

    I think more people would take up the sport and join gyms if that was the case.

    Most people are simply too soft to box, let alone to turn pro and fight for a belt. No matter what you call the belt. Lol.

    If you want boxing to advance than get rid of all of these belts. One world can only have one true world champion.

    All of these belts are about making more money. Period.

    Boxing already has novice, senior novice and open fighters. Aswell as professionals...........Rockin'

    Blackbelt=Professional, in most cases ..........Rockin'

      If I put years and years into boxing personally I'd rather boast an amateur record then a belt awarded to me through arbitrary exhibition.

        Yeah, I like the old way, when there was the WBA and that was it. I thought that was the original, but when I googled it, the "NBA National Boxing Association" goes back to 1921! But then again, I liked baseball better when there was the NL and AL, with no divisions, and no interleague play either. I'm a dinosaur I guess.

          Aren't medals like a belt system during tournaments?
