Supposed to just work out your legs more because you're carrying extra weight.

I think the whole running at 4am in army boots in NOT practical at all. Firstly if i didnt have the mental toughness then i wouldnt be training. And secondly running in my trainers would get me better times, better fitness and i wont get injuryed easily. I think 5 miles i maybe just about right. BUT everyday? i think thats a no no

lots of fighters do it. floyd sr had hatton do it, floyd jr does it but not every time. its good, cuz it improves your footwork also in addition to stamina. just like when u use handweights your feet in this case get much quicker.

as for all the ppl questioning running in the morning, most fighters do it acctually. its a mental thing like someone said already. being out there running when your oponent is asleep. and also pulling your ass of the canvas when your down knowing all the hard work u put in to get there. your not gonna lose after going thru hell.

More than being a mental thing, it's a sleep-related thing.

If you run at 5am and goes back to sleep at 6.30am, you can go to the gym at noon, go home and do your thing, and then do technique/studies in the evening.

It's about managing your day as efficiently as possible as well as making sure you get enough rest between sessions.

wouldnt getting up at 4am and sleeping at 7pm possibly hurt later on?

Considering prime time fights are at around 7pm. Youre body could be used to being a sleep at that time, thus being not as primed during the fight.

What if you wake up at 4am every morning and you live on the east coast. That would be a 10pm fight time if you fight in Vegas. And in your regular schedule, youd normally be 2-3 hours into your sleep.

I dont understand the mentality thing either. What if you train late? your opponent is already sleeping at 8pm, while your training at 10pm. Who's advantage would that go to?

I think training should peak at the time your going to fight at. If your training at 7pm, and your fight is going to be at 7pm, then your body and mind will be in the best shape possible for the fight.

Look into NFL teams traveling into the east coast. The records are alot worse comapred to the east. Playing a game at 1pm on teh east coast is similiar to playing 10am on the west coast. The mind and body are on two different schedules.
