I've been practicing my power punching techniques for about 5 years, in the other year I've been practicing speed to boot with it more.

As for ME with power. I use my torso, pivots. I use my legs but sadly I have to think about it at times to initiate it. With all combined for ME. The power is brutal. For me the main focus is turning my torso and unwind it for full velocity and my pivot should follow off of the force.

    Just my take on it.

        hey verse. how's it going?

sounds good - just remember to move from bottom half.

how is your craft coming along? anything specific you are working on?

too many bull**** myths like punchers are born. yeah, some with a good punch may want you to think that so that u dont try to build a stronger punch. or like legendary jack dempsey says, they just forgot about the hard work they did and end up thinking that they were born special.

fact is, any person alive can increase punching. and i mean more than just by a little bit.

and mass times speed is not even half of the equation as the human body isnt a stick figure. ****, even a stick figure has more variables.

mass and velocity are extremely simplistic and crude rules of physics. and following such faulty logic will only hurt you.
ofcourse anyone can improve punching power, that doesnt mean everyone can improve it to the point they become a big puncher. anyone can improve KO power but everyone has a limit, only some are born to become big punchers. like running, we could all improve out short distance speed if we trained, but we couldnt all become usain bolts. only some are born with the ability to run that fast, training hard to get there or not. same goes for punching, only a few are born with the ability to increase punching power to julian jackson level.

as for speed and mass creating power, ofcourse theres more to it. boxing is the sweet science and the art of creating KOs is as artistic and complex as anything. however theres a first step to everything, i never said speed and mass is the whole equation. but its were u start out at if u want to increase power. in time u find out for yourself what adjustments u need to make in your form and/or execution to keep improving.

but to answer your question its all about technique. feet, hips and shoulders. pivot your feet, twist your hips and put your shoulder into it and you will throw with your whole bodyweight. once u get good form and put these three togheter u will generate maximum power. once u got that down work on your handspeed, shadowboxing with light weigths is the best way for that. mass x velocity = force but remember, punchers are born, not made. and what i told u to begin with, power does u no good if u dont have the skills to deliver. work on the basics first or you will be the one tasting your oponents punching power instead. good luck.
            Classic bull**** here.
This guy knows better than all the boxing trainers, researchers, proffesional boxers and all those other people out there who know at least a tiny bit about boxing.
            Punchers are made not born

Try n hit me back with technical crap and i bet i can top it

I often wonder if the term "punchers are born" was misunderstood.

I think how powerful you can punch is obviously down to your genetic potential. You can work on your power and improve it, but it will only go so far and you may still not be a big puncher in your weight class.

But remember, timing is just as important in knocking people out, and for that you will have to work on your craft and improve your skill level.

its your core and legs, they both control the hips. the quicker you can swing your hips into it the more power.

Do not forget to put endurance in this equation, skill as well. For without skill and the power to throw it properly and dig, your raw power will equal nothing. In boxing everything is about endurance. The endurance to sustain a blow and having the skill and the energy to throw it back.

You must also consider that natural punchers are not only the strong guys. Smart fighters that can put the punches in the right windows will knockout just as many, if not more, because their opponent is not expecting it. .....................Rockin'

first, there is no damn punchers being born. it doesnt happen. the hardest hitters i have ever met were born sickly actually. they usually seem to be the people who take exercise more seriously.

but, i really dont care anymore. if u think otherwise, fine.

if you wanna follow flawed logic, myths, rumors, and think that ability is mostly "born" into a person, then fine. then you will never know what i know. but i dont care.

for anyone who isnt influenced by ****** **** they hear, do your own research. and dont limit yourself.
