his speed and old school approach seem to imply that tyson did alot of calisthenics work. imo as he got older he concentrated on weights and that took away his edge in speed.
the routine posted seems believabe though, 50 press-ups isn't alot for an elite athlete, neither are the dips, 200 sit ups seems alot but tyson had a strong core and i remember he did a ridiculous amount of sit ups with weights as well. would be interested to see what his recovery time was? 10 sets does seem like alot.
If one thing didn't work, Tyson got frustrated without anyone in his corner to offer him good advice. I have a feeling cocain did a number on him as well. If he started getting hit back hard, he had no determination left.
when he was young, you can tell he was prepared for difficulties in the ring and knew how to handle them.
You can see in the tucker fight where he took some big shots but shrugged them off and made sure not to get caught by them again.
so basically, in his prime, he was a boxer. In his later years he was the angry tough gangster...
