  • Unable to do Sprinting in early morning

I dont know how boxers do roadwork in the mornings

I tried to do some sprints this morning (after breakfast) but I felt tired and exhausted after a few laps. This has happened a 2nd time.
Its only in the late afternoons where I have enough energy to do sprint work (anaerobic exercises) but i have to go to work.
Which really only leaves after work where I go to the gym to do weights.

I would do the sprints after work but Im tired from the long day

    Any advice?

      Maybe but

I can do 6 laps at late afternoon or night but in the mornings I just gas out after 1

You not thinking about boxing are you? If your plans are to get in shape, yeah take your time but keep working.

Im sure then if you can get to 6 sprints in the morning then you can pull off 36 in the late afternoon.

but serisouly make sure your warming up with like a 5 min light jog or walk then stretch and do your sprints. Personally i just plan for a Jog in the morning and end up doing a few 3 min sprints during that time. This way even if i dont feel like doing sprints i still get in my road work and more often then not i end up sprinting anyways.

there's no reason you "need" to do sprinting in the morning. However, if you get enough sleep, wake up and eat a good breakfast, you should feel like you're ready for anything. I'd guess that your breakfast isn't square.

Timing of running is not as important as long as you do it.

dont eat a good breakfast before doing sprints.

your body is probably set to do sprints in the afternoon and isnt used to working out right when waking up. So keep doing what you can and you should adjust.

This poster I3C727 has it right on. I used to train in the afternoon after work. I had friends who swore that training in the morning was the way to go so I tried it out. First few workouts were rough - felt shakey and sick to my stomach and no strength. I stuck with it and those days are a thing of the past. Now I sometimes think - wow - I'm sparring at 7:30 a.m. and some people are still asleep. I finish up at the gym and still get to work by 9 am with my training complete. It took some time but your body will gradually adjust and I think you will enjoy having your evening free from the sprints. Training in the AM also gets you to bed earlier and you don't have the tendency to stay up late or go out, etc b/c you have to get up the next day. Good Luck!!
