What is your definition for the term "puncher"

When boxers or fighters are described as being a "puncher," what definition comes to mind? I always thought it was someone who throws a lot of punches, but then later i've heard the term being defined as a hard hitter. Or maybe it means both; someone who throws a lot of punches and hits hard.

Are brawlers and punchers the same?

      edwin valero = brawler puncher
      manny pacquiao = boxer/puncher

arturo gatti = brawler, not really a puncher
      mickey ward = ditto
      baby bull= ditto

Punchers can knock u out in any round.

Ricky Hatton & David Diaz are brawlers but not punchers.

So no, brawlers & punchers are not always the same.

          bingo.

has nothing to do with how many punches u throw. not about ability to knock ppl out based on accumulation of damage eighter. simply one punch KO artists.

A puncher is a one hitter quitter? Dope. So i'm assuming it's good to be a puncher.

a person who likes to get into slugging contests, a brawler?

puncher is sometimes used to mean boxer-punchers like hearns

Someone just looking for that one shot. Usually very slow and throw wide shots.
