  • ever hear of a person who wants plastic surgery becoming a fighter?

ok so heres the deal, and please dont laugh

im 22 years old and i think i have potential to be either an MMA fighter (im a blue belt in bjj, plus have experience with wrestling and muay thai) or a boxer (boxing experience at a world famous gym)

i made another topic about how i feel im very physically gifted. i also feel that above all other physical gifts, i have the desire and heart to be a fighter...its my true (and only) passion in life...i live for fighting. they say if you love something you'd do it for free, well id fight for free.

now heres the problem...i kind of have depression issues and i sometimes dont like myself...ive thought about getting plastic surgery (a nose job) for some time now...OBVIOUSLY there is a major issue here... if i spend 8,000$ on a nose job, would that mean my fighting days are over? i really dont like my nose at all, and i would want nothing more than to change it..but at the same time i LOVE fighting and want to be a professional fighter. i just dont want to have my expensive nose get smashed...ugh its such a ****** up decision that i have to make..

is there such a way where i can do both? this is the main concern in my life right now because like i said im 22 and im getting old. i need to make a decision now, whether im going to be a fighter or a guy who gets surgery and finally gets some confidence...give me advice. im not sure what to do here

My cousin, who is a surgeon said to me that De La Hoya did plastic surgery on his nose. So, no it's not impossible to be a fighter with a plastic surgery.

I want to be a boxer and maybe a MMA fighter too, but i learnt that it's almost impossible to get involved in this kind of business without having cauliflower( for jiujitsu) or a nose broken( for boxing). 80% of my sparring partners in boxing have a big nose and a lot of bruises, so don't think you will look like Di Caprio if you continue boxing and hopefully become a pro.

If you want to do plastic surgery, there's something wrong with you. As you said you are depressed, so it's a psychological problem. Go to see a psychologist and talk to him about that; cause if the brain can't work, no matter how talented you are, you can't do ****.

I already had a depression about family problems but i knew that i had to be strong mentally to have a successful life.
              So, "Get Up, Stand Up!"

thanks for the only serious reply mayorga

i dont see why this was such a big deal? its a serious question i had...i OBVIOUSLY see the glaring contradiction...i want a nose job and at the same time i want to get punched in the nose...im not ****ing ******..i can SEE the contradiction here, just wanted to know if there was a way around it because i want to do both

I realised that this post by you is really you coming out of the closet in code, i believe i've decyphered it, I will highlight the true meanings in bold. look:

Im 22 years old and i think i have potential to be either an MMA fighter (im a blue belt in bjs, plus have experience with wrestling and muay thai) or a boxer (boxing experience at a world famous gym)

Haha, try see the funny side, i'm only messing about!

As for the actual issue, I would say go for it. Boxing may or may not mess up your nose, it's possible that you could get your nose broken and thus its possible it might get crooked but there's no reason why you can't risk it. It's not like every boxer's nose is ****ed, most amatuer's arent.
