you use your body too it is very square but its still all the weight of your body is behind the punches its more speeding up the rotation of the torso then actually punching the punches kind of fling out from the body on their own

i can do about 20 all out punches in 3 seconds not chain punch style i hope some one that knows what their doing can throw 30 in 5

Joined an Athletic club today that has a boxing gym area and offers 3 classes a week that i can go to and signed up for the classes so i can go work out at the gym then go to class and go jog on the tread but i have to be there for a little while before i can just go and free roam the boxing area like when class isnt going on I start next tuesday

so, when someone learns how to punch with correct form, they can never be faster than they already are?

so all the hand speed drills and explosiveness drills for speed that me and millions of other boxers are doing daily are pretty worthless then, huh?

any science behind that, or is that just how it is?

if you can throw 20 punches in 3 seconds, then I hope I never face you in the ring, lol.

good luck with your training. you'll see how different and hard it is to perfect a boxers punch, then you may change your square stance and fast hand flinging to accomodate the onslaught from your opponent. you're gonna love it man good luck...

Exactly, of course you can improve it. Some people are just highly ignorant, otherwise you would get sprinters who would just give up, because they "cant get any faster". Which is true to some extent, based on genetics, but their training techniques also limits their development.

If you think just standing there and punching is going to make you faster you will be wasting your time, you have to strengthen each muscle involved in the action and then combine that with proper technique while remaining relaxed.

I think improving speed is mental. My trainer told me for my jab to simulate as if I'm stabbing someone. Improved my speed just like that.
