  • face savers?

does anyone use headgear with the bar accross the nose? im 6 months into my boxing "career" and already my nose is ruined, cant breath out of my nostril, been like that for a month, think i broke it cause it was making some weird noises and moving around alot but thats not the deal here.

does anyone use this? ive been using fight regulation headgear when i spar and i shouldnt been having this many troubles with my nose so early, not that im to huge of saving my ego here, i would rather keep my nose semi intact, but im really strugling with making this decision.

Im a heavyweight, honestly enjoy a good punch to the face , (which led to my broken nose,) and i dont know if sparring will be as fun knowing the i can drop my hand all i want because now i dont even have to worry about breaking something. Just wondering if anyone has used these, any comments would be helpfull

just cover your nose in vaseline outside and a little bit inside it will make hits to the nose less direct and if you do get a direct hit to the nose there's a less chance of it bleeding.

You've probably got a deviated septum.

If you're worried about a full face saver causing you to drop your hands because the threat of a punch to the face isn't there then get a mexican style headguard. They're meant to protect mainly the cheekbones, but they offer a lot more protection for the nose then a regular competition guard.

          Something like this

oh i know i have a deviated septum, thats in my good nostril though, this complete blockage of my nose, when i put my finger up there it feels like the bone collapsed or something because the bone is touching the opposite side of my nose, im not very good at describing lol

but ya, i think maybe ill get one of those and alot of Vaseline and see if that works out, thanks for the input

I had a deviated septum, ****** getting surgery, my nose bled for days after and I hadn't drank any liquids for like 48 hours...it blew chunks.

                    Facebar !

I have the cleto reyes face bar and i find it annoying aye i push it up and it rests on my nose, i push it down and it rests on my mouth and either way i have trouble breathing properly. I dont know what the problem is maybe i got one not the right size, who knows ???????????????????

But i have sparred in the mexican style headgear and i am going to buy one because there much more comfortable and still quite protective not giving you that false feeling of protection as the face bar headgear.

And even when sparring still use vasoline to prevent more damage on nose and face.

                    Kind regards
