For all the amature boxers, how many days a week and how many hours do you guys train. I sometimes find it hard to balance school/training. Is three days a week of training enough in your opinion? Thanks guys

    I train 4-5 days a week from 2-3 hours

Five, sometimes six days per week, 2.5-3 hours per day.

Three days per week is considered the minimum by my trainer if you want to compete.

im 15 so i am the same as you with school, but i still manage 6 days a week. go to the boxing gym 3 days a week (soon to be 5), lift weights twice a week, running/sprinting 4 times a week and training at home on the days i aint in the boxing gym

            6:00am-2:30pm = Work

            5:30-7:30 = Training (Boxing)

            8:00-9:00 = Karate

            4:10-9:45 = School (Thursdays)

The time in between is my commute from one place to another.

I run, do cardio and study on weekends. Once in a while i find time to fcuk. LOL.

I have a jammed packed day; all day, everyday with one day of rest within the week....then i think to myself what else would i be doing?

I can only go monday and wednesday right now, usually its monday wednesday thursday (those are the days our gym is open...weird days I know). I try to spar each time Im at the gym since its only open on those days and I'll stay for 2-3 hours, usually two. I make up for the crappy gym hours by shadowboxing for 5 rounds first thing when I wake up.

              mon-(morning shadowboxing, pushups/pullups, roadwork)
              evening gym, abs
tue-(morning shadowboxing, anaerobic power circuits) evening home skill session
wed=same as monday, thur=same as tue, fri=same as mon except skills at home

on tuesdays and thursdays I have my college cardio class and we usually go out and run/bike/or whatever but we have to keep to the criterion for the day which is usually pretty slow paced stuff so its more like a recovery run or whatever you want to call it.

Three days a week is enough, you can try to do some running or other cardio in your own time as well.
