    Gallons of water?

You need to be careful, cause if you drink too much water you dilute the sodium in your body and die from hyponatremia.

Don't drink gallons it is not necessary and can result in being bloated. 8 glasses is the limit. There is alot of water in food and other drinks too.
I'm guessing by the fact that this guy is banned that he is a known troll/always posts dumb stuff but this needs to be clarified just in case someone actually takes his advice seriously.

8 glasses of water is definitely NOT the limit. That's the recommended amount (6-8 glasses) for an average person to stay properly hydrated. The average person sits on their ass all day, not sweating.

An athlete doing rigorous physical training needs A LOT more. If you workout in the evening, drink a lot during the day but then slow down a bit just before your workout so you're not training on a full stomach and get cramps etc. Keep drinking throughout your workout, and then drink a lot more after.

If you sweat extremely heavily, drink gatorade or some other type of electrolyte drink during/after your workout. You need to replace more than just water lost from sweat.

The easiest way to tell if you are properly hydrated is to check the colour of your piss. If it's yellow like apple juice, you need more water. It should be clear, or very slightly yellow. That doesn't mean stop drinking water when it gets to be that colour, that means your're drinking enough, keep it up.

If you're constantly pissing crystal clear than means your body has too much water, which isn't bad except in extreme cases, it just means you're going to go to the bathroom more often because your body can't absorb all the water you are drinking.
