How bad does drinking, shrooms, and partying affect a boxer?

Yeah. In the end, I always think you have a choice. Unless, of course, someone actually holds you back and sticks drugs in you, you always have a choice. Obviously the more abuse you take, the more you're inclined to think theres no choice, but you always do have it.
I think it all just comes down to how you are, and whether you've experimented with drugs. Most people that have experimented with drugs and alcohol will be a bit more lenient and forgiving with other people. Most that haven't don't know what its like to be in that state, so they just talk from their point of view. I don't like to force my ideas on anyone, but if someone asks what I think about drugs, I'll tell them straight up.
trmmo, I respect the fact that you no longer use drugs, and understand that they ****ed up your potentially successful boxing career, but I still think there is absolutely no amount of abuse in the world that will FORCE someone to take drugs.

Though it takes alot of strength to quit an addiction even legal stuff like alcohol and cigarettes.

You should not be under the influence except once a month. If you got stoned or smashed on payday then I don't think it will have a huge effect. When it is regular and you have alot of late nights, then it will **** you up. Be disciplined. I don't even do it once a month.
