that's a cop out. there are plenty of people who've been through hell and didn't resort to being a junkie.

Yeah. In the end, I always think you have a choice. Unless, of course, someone actually holds you back and sticks drugs in you, you always have a choice. Obviously the more abuse you take, the more you're inclined to think theres no choice, but you always do have it.

I think it all just comes down to how you are, and whether you've experimented with drugs. Most people that have experimented with drugs and alcohol will be a bit more lenient and forgiving with other people. Most that haven't don't know what its like to be in that state, so they just talk from their point of view. I don't like to force my ideas on anyone, but if someone asks what I think about drugs, I'll tell them straight up.

trmmo, I respect the fact that you no longer use drugs, and understand that they ****ed up your potentially successful boxing career, but I still think there is absolutely no amount of abuse in the world that will FORCE someone to take drugs.

Yeah sure I agree. but some people use drugs as a form of self medication for other stuff (others just to get high, or just to get wasted) I just dont think you can just divide drug users and non drug users as being weak people /strong people. Though it takes alot of strength to quit an addiction even legal stuff like alcohol and cigarettes.

it isn't a cop out actually. it isn't always a simple case of determination. but there are ways to get help, to avoid using addictive substances.

drugs are really, really popular these days, for whatever reason. i think the "mentally stronger" people are the ones who can break an addiction. you have to be pretty mentally strong to be able to choose not to go get wasted every day even though you may want too

Why does everyone talk about this like they are top level pro's? lol
Drinking alot might make you saggy in training maybe the next 1/2 days but thats it

You should not be under the influence except once a month. If you got stoned or smashed on payday then I don't think it will have a huge effect. When it is regular and you have alot of late nights, then it will **** you up. Be disciplined. I don't even do it once a month.
