I was gonna do a new thread, but this is close enough I am in the same situation except there is no other gym around, its a small town. The trainer at my gym shows up every once and a while shows me a few things then leaves after about 10 mins there is only one other boxer there, and he is hardly ever there the rest are MMA about 12 of them so they don't need a boxing trainer.

The trainer is a really good boxer and knows his ****. His girlfriend is a pro and id the only one he really works with. I told him from the start I was serious about this but I don't think he is. I don't know whether to stick it out and maybe he will see I am for real or what. It sux.
