    Switch gyms or not?

Here is my situation.....my gym ***in sucks now. Our two top trainers are gone and there is only one guy left who couldnt put fights together if his life depended on it. Im supposed to fight in about a week, i havent been sparring...nothing. I just go and train myself. I hate that because i can do that **** at home if i wanted to, just run, jump rope, shadow box and all that.

Im currently in New B MA, My gym is literrally 5 mins from where i live. I can walk there everyday.

Im thinking about going to a gym in Fall River MA, about a 15 minute drive away. This gyms good, and all the kids get fights.

but....my gym in New B is FREE and i live so CLOSE. The Fall River gym is going to KILL me with GAS MONEY and you have to PAY to go to the gym.

I go to college in Fall River so im thinking about getting an apartment over there and that would make it easier but that still wont be for a while.

I think it might be worth it to go train in Fall River.
What should I do? Any opinions?

If you want the best you have to go for what's best. You may have answered your own question. You don't want mediocre training do you? I know I sure wouldn't want even the smallest bit of doubt in my mind. Free is good but it's detremental to your growth as a fighter. Go pay the other gym and better yourself. Stay up

is it too far to ride a bicycle to the gym? its a good warmup exercise -burn fat, not oil (and money)!
or can you catch a bus?

i'd say go to the better gym but money's a big issue to so if you can afford it, go for it, if you can't then train yourself.

A bike ride would be too far. I have to take the highway there, and that takes 15-20 minutes to get there driving about 70mph.

I think i could afford it, but damn id be spending a lot of money on gas going to Fall River for college in the morning abd back again at night somedays. Because of college, im only working about 30 hours a week now and im making about $300 a week. So i could afford it i think, but damn the gym in New B is so much easier to do.

I think ill go to the gym in Fall River this week some time and check it out, see if its worth it. Maybe f try and work out a deal

on a side note....going to college, working, and boxing is ***ing nuts. Im exhausted, no time for myself. After my next fight i think im going to take a few weeks off of boxing.

if its a better gym, do it. i go to the university full time (engineer student), work and have to drive 15 mins to my gym where i pay 85$ a month. not too mention i have to drive roughly an hour every time i go to the school, really jacks my gas up too. i have very low income so if i can do it, you probably can too.

my first two months boxing i wasnt at a very good gym at all.. it was very close to my house but it wasnt helping me because i wanted to take boxing more seriously than they did.. they were also doing MMA there too.. this other gym i now go to is about a 15-20 minute drive and is a highly respected gym in the city.. he opened 6 years ago and some of his first fighters are going pro ..

Im making sacrifices to go to the gym too, not working an extra job with a baby on the way.. relocating my girlfriend to live with me in queens from another brough and everything.. it all depends on how serious and where u plan on going with boxing ..

It really depends on how important boxing and fighting is to you. If you only box for fun and to be in shape, the free and closer gym is the way to go. But if you want to keep fighting and go somewhere with boxing, well, go to the better gym.

I have no idea how you can go to school full time, work and train at the same time. I work and train and it's killing me. I hate my ****ing job too.

Honestly I would stick what you have now just get on that one trainers ass about trainin you. Or even just train with another boxer there.

You said u wanted to take some time off so if our gonna join another gym do it after you take time off.
