Power in punches

At the gym they only have 150 pounds bag. I have bought a custom made 300 pounds bag about a year ago, and i feel like that developped my power even more. But that might just be that i am a big guy and 150 pounds bags aren't enough for me. Honestly i don't even know if the weight of the bag can have a effect on punching power, it might just be a placebo effect.
I also do punch out drills. I do like, 20 right hooks to the body as hard as i can, then 20 left hooks to the body, then i try 20 1-2 as hard and fast as i can. I don't that about 3 times at the end of my bag session.

For me weight training and becoming stronger increased the power of my punches greatly, I can hit alot harder now than I could 7 years ago at 28 but I am not heavier. But this might not help everyone but it helped me because since my teens I have been tall and thin. So a general increase in strength and muscle size (not too much) through core compound weight training has put some ammo behind my punches, and I can hit hard. But technique, balance, timing and leverage are more important.
I started boxing at 12 but the time I was 16 I shot up in height but was really too skinny, so for people with similiar builds to me I think can definitely increase punching power through weight training.
Also I think you skeletal structure and how you are born is a huge factor.

I had a similiar build to this kid Punchdrunk is training here in this vid. I think most people can see that he would benefit from weight training to build strength AND muscle size, especially as he gets older and develops as a boxer.

Trrmo, that's kinda what I'm getting at. I understand that technique and timing and stuff is important, but as that is my strong point at the moment I want to work on the muscle strengthening side of things. At the moment I don't weight train except with hand weights. I build muscle easily and think that some type of strength training could help, and I also have the option of fighting in a higher weight class. I just don't want to bulk up without it contributing to my boxing and I try to incorporate all my training into boxing technique.

focus on the torque of your hips and legs as the trigger of your punches. me like most people tend to lose power as they tire just because they get lazy and lose focus on that part and just punch with their arms.
shadowbox in front of a mirror to see what I mean.
