Power shots tend to be more predictable in motion and throw your body of balance some slower recovery time without set up you will be less likely to land them and miss. Also you would get slower which would make your conditioning worse.
I saw a boxing match between two people , the guy who lost did a similar thing to what you want to do, throwing heavy punches, the other guy either clinched him or kept his distance with the jab. By the sixth round the guy was exhausted and got KOd in the 8th
