Speed bag work....

Time much better spent on a double ended bag.

What are you suppose to gain from it? Timing? Nope. The only thing you learn to time is a bouncing bag... Speed? Nope... Endurance? Maybe... but there are better ways. Coordination? Not at all.
All you learn to do is hit the speed bag. It doesn't contribute anything useful towards your boxing. However, some people enjoy hitting the speed bag, and if it makes your time in the gym more enjoyable, or gives you something to look forward to at the end of a workout then it has done its job. Just don't expect it to do anything besides be a cute little gimmick.

i don't know about anyone else, but the speed bag helps me with my depth perception. I think that's what it's supposed to do but it helps me.

I use it to work on my left hook. Some people at my gym use it to practice their overhand rights and jabs. But, a double end bag is better for that. It also builds endurance in the shoulders and timing.

my trainer only lets me do it on my own at the end of the workout. he stresses that is BY FAR the LEAST important bag as it does not simulate punching at all. he says it is a relic from the pass and you could successfully train without it. i make sure to get in at least 3 rounds on it a day anyway though. if its good enough for b-hop and oscar,i can at least get proficient on it- thats my outlook!

the floor to ceiling ball (or double end bag same thing) is waaaay better for timing accuracy and co-ordination
speed balls dont help with anything, there are better ways to keep your hands up and develop your shoulders

Have you ever actually don eit for the duration you are meant to? That wopuld be 10-20 minutes. I can tell from your flabby shoulders that you have not. Also, you can't be educating anyone about speed or endurance after posting them vids. If you went any slower you'd come to a standstill.
Rather than take anecdotal advice mixed with proper advice, check out the Brian Todd book and make up your own mind. Most of the top fighters do alot of it and not for no reason. You only get the benefits when you do it for a long time like them guys.
