    pain question?

    ok i have been training at the boxing gym for two days so far...today will be my third...
    i have been doing mostly jabs with a right cross...and i am trying to learn the left hook but it is proving a little difficult but ill get it...
    anyway...
    my arms especially my biceps and the top part of my forearm are a little tender...
    is this normal?

    Be patient with the left hook. Once you get the technique right and begin mastering it you will become destruction..just make sure not to punch wide with the hook (Ask a trainer to show you how to throw a left hook) and make sure you don't get in a habit of throwing it wide and you'll be fine.

    it's completely normal to be sore as hell after your first few days at a gym or doing boxing training in general. being sore is a good thing...Just, when you are feeling sore, instead of focusing on the pain, think about how your body is actually growing stronger and how you are growing as a fighter, physically, and mentally.

    The only time being super sore is a problem is if you have to fight some top talent at your gym that you know will give you a good spar. That's the only point in time I've ever wished I wasn't sore.

      I used to get bicep pain after throwing a lot of jabs during training. Don't know if its normal.

        Man up son, if a little bit of pain in your arms is worrying you then getting punched in the nose will **** you up.

            whats your age bro

            if youre younger i just wanna throw you a word of advice, ive seen some kids come in our gym and get peer pressured into sparring too early, etc. wait a month or two and take boxing seriously leading up to your first spar. go home and run, wake up and run. shadowbox in your spare time at work. live ,breatheat sleep and **** boxing. why?

            cuz the other guys in your gym aint, i promise you. you gotta take it seriously than serious...ppl round here think im crazy doin roadwork on the highway 5-6 mi runs , w/ gloves on, at 2am.

              Everyone get's aches and pains when they start something different. I boxed for years but two years ago joined a cricket team, which is a very gentle sprt in comparison.
              I ached for ages after practise as my body wasn't used to the movements.

                cricket .....why not play golf instead


                at least playing golf thers always the chance of a line drive landing on the side of some passerby's truck

                  im 19 yo, yeah i go to the boxing gym from 530 to 830...five days a week..as soon as this week is done lol...
                  i have been trying to get up at like six to go run...its just so damn hard...my body is exhausted when i get home...
                  i just pass out in bed...
