BTW- what'd you think of the Fenech sparring tape on there?
That was even lighter than we were suggesting going on the other thread.

Freddy Roaches segments are the best. He really puts what I do into words. I know all the fundamentals. Every hole in my defense is there to present a target. I want you punching a something I know you are going to punch at.

If anyone is interested, I will make a set of videos on some of the more advanced defensive techniques I do, as well as some of the misunderstood, and unfortunately often miss taught basics.

As I have been saying time in and time out, sparring is about learning, not beating each other senseless. If someone is trying to knock your head off, you are not going to try new things, you will not progress, and you will never get better. Soft sparring is your friend.

Sparring should be like a drill. Its not a fight. You are helping your sparring partner learn new things, and he is helping you learn new things.

I think maybe we agree on more things than we disagree Shawn... That last one was a good post. I definitely agree.

i have to disagree, sparring is all about preparing for real bouts and if your just go soft and light in sparing and then when you have a real bout whats gonna happen....

the guy who been sparring hard and tough will knock ten bells outa you because you wont know who to come with the pace and power..

tyson always sparred full on , thats why he had so many sparring partners, ricky hatton spars with the same intensity he shows in the ring,

sparring should be almost the same as a bout with both people really giving their all, working on speed, power, footwork, intensity,
No sparring should be preformerd lightly unless the other person is just begining....

shaun are you saying if i came to your gym and started to spar with the same intensity im used to, i would be told to stop...? why is that, surly is better if you can spar properly and not have to go light on each other
