never tried how long i can skip, but if i skip at medium pace i think i can skip 'til i get bored.
My normal warmup routine is one 3min round with medium pace, then one 2min round with spurts (10 seconds medium pace, 10 seconds really fast pace or double unders), and then a 1min round with fast pace lifting my knees.

10 minutes is all you need, if you are an amatuer.. if you can't work do 10 minutes straight, work your way up to ten minutes with the rope moving fast. in the amateurs everything is based on speed and quickness. skipping rope develops your foot speed, cardiovascular and rythym. if you notice, all slick boxers can really skip rope..ex. mayweather. boxing is all about rythym. watch great boxers, they are making music in the boxing ring...
