im 6'2 weight 158 pounds and have to say that i would love to fight someone built like you. You wouldnt get close to me and i would pretty much jab you to death. If you wanna box you really need to drop a lot of weight otherwise as people have said you would get seriously hurt!

David i remember seeing you on the bodybuilding.com forums a while back and being very impressed. i thought you'd be in the olympia, or at least the arnold, a few years down the road. i had no clue you went into boxing, but good luck with it. i'm curious to see how that works out for you.

wow too much hating on these forums hey lukey i am sure you are a good boxer i try not to disrespect my fellow boxers, but i have to say you are being naive, do you really think i wouldnt get close to you at all? you can move and have a good jab but unless you are a really boxing genius i will close the gap sooner or later, think a little i have fought and sparred many many many tall guys i am really getting used to it, why?

because most of my opposition its taller than me, you are the one that would be on unknown terrain, plus my reach isnt that short i am sure yours its better but underestimating other guys reach its a common mistake against short fighters.

Still as i have said before i am still in pretty good shape but i am not like i used to be in my bodybuilding days.

well thought i will give you my point of view but u can think whatever u want

mamoroso i thought the same but i been boxing for quite a while now and i have done pretty well so far many things caused me to leave bodybuilding long story haha, i am fighting amateur but my coach does plan to turn me pro next year ( if i do well in the next 2 tournaments )

tHAT IS VERY GOOD.. THE PRO PART.. WHAT WEIGHT CLASS ARE YOU IN?

PROS ARE SORTA WEAK AT THE MOMENT I THINK... NO HUGE GUYS BESIDES MIRANDA...MAYBE BERTO...KESSLER, PAVLIK, AND HAYE... TO BE SCARED OF IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL BOXING. (JUST OFF THE TOP)

i wasnt trying to be disrespectful at all. and i apoligise if it sounded that way. Jst as people say you dont see many people your size in the gym. Duno if its different in the US but in my gym when people are making weight they are skinny with very little muscle. Only two or three small stocky people. A couple of people who were fairly big joined and they realy realy struggled. when sparring with them they did on first round closing the gap and gettin inside but after that you could see them losing heart as they had to take 6-7 shots to land one!!!

Whats your record in the amateurs??

I've gotta say that sounded pretty disrespectful to me.

Anyway, good luck with the tournaments David, hope it all goes well for you. You're clearly extremely dedicated to the sport, and I hope you go out there and do it for the smaller guys!!

As for the guy with the pic of GSP as his avatar, I truly hope you and a life meet up some time soon. You really could do with one asap.

Some of you people giving David a hard time should spend less time on the computer and more time eating a sandwich. David was being nothing but respectful even with the few of you hating on him. Sounds to me like maybe you guys shoudl shut up, David is going pro in a year and you guys probably wont ever make it. Sounds like hes a better boxer than you guys put together. Would probably kick your asses at the same time.

And for the record, big muscle do not make you immobile and slow. Why do you guys think pepole like Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher are so fast? Squats, power cleans, and deadlifts will make you bigger and faster than you have ever been in your life.

Go back to school, learn to write, and pick up a book for once. Maybe you wont sound so ****** next time you post.

ermm big muscles DO make you slow. being stocky is ok in boxing, you can still be quick and adapt to a peek a boo style but being big and muscular in physique is more suited to a sport like wrestling where strength is paramount. boxing is about being lean and slim, while maintaining power.
