Snack Foods that are good for your training diet?

I'm trying to pull myself away from bad eating to get in better shape for fighting. But what i'm asking now is, what kind of foods are healthy to eat but make good snacks too? I'm usually up really late at night or whenever, and instead of biting into a cupcake or drinking a soda, what is good for you to eat that can taste well too?

We used to have spinksjinx on here, and he used to be very good with dietary nutrition and stuff, so I hope some of you can help me out here.

    Appreciate it!

Like Mick said, eat fruit. I don't know how the yogurts are in England, but in the US, they have high fructose corn syrup, which you should try to stay away from. Start eating more fruit and you'll be surprised how quickly you'll find yourself not wanting **** like soda, cupcakes, cookies, and all that junk.

Also, if you want something sweet, maybe have some baby carrots with honey. Natural and tastes great.

I get the AllNatural Dannon yogurts which have no high fructose corn syrup in them. I also crush up some walnuts and put them in there. Fruit is a good snack, I also usually have cottage cheese as a late night snack as well.

Thanks alot you guys, I'm doing my best to get myself prepared for the ring right now.

I have a question about celery with cream cheese or apples with peanut butter? Is that really defeating the purpose by adding those things to them? Or in the morning I usually eat special K, total, or wheeties. By adding sugar to them, is that going to hurt me as well?

Keep them coming guys, really appreciate it.

I always add honey to my cereal... salt to my other meals aswell.. if i'm trying to lose weight it helps. Tabasco hot sauce pretty much saves anything bland you're eating.

i would avoid the cream cheese on celery as it's mostly saturated fat, i don't really see a problem with natural peanut butter as long as it's done in moderation (i love pb more than anything, very good on bananas too)

for breakfast i usually eat eggs with oatmeal & honey (not instant) and provides me with quality protein and complex carbs rather than simple carbs that are in most cereal (along with the added sugar); honey is also good after a workout as it helps to replace glycogen lost in the muscles during the workout

while total and wheaties are a little better than special k carbo-type-wise, they still are processed foods and i try to stay away from most man-altered foods as processing almost always alters food content for the worse
