Theres been plenty of days when i've wanted to give up training or Vale-Tudo, from pure frustration to dislocating my collar bone, but you can't be a Vagina and just give, it all depends on how bad you want to get your goals....

Considering how many people there are in the non-stop boxing section who have never stepped foot inside a ring, yet spend most of their time calling world-class fighters "bums", it's annoying how the guys who post here about training sometimes end up taking the most criticism.
If people keep getting insulted when they post about training not going well, or how they're feeling nervous about sparring/an upcoming fight, then it'll reduce the number of people posting about their experiences in this section.
I'd much rather read a thread like this than yet another one about how great creatine is.

Life is all about struggles. I struggle every day to stay on point and fall off way to much. You need a higher power to stay focused 100%. I am the last thing from a preacher but that is the last resort. So many cats in this fightin game are looking for answers and angry. I don't have them but can say when I am at my strongest is when I am focused on god and my goals. I am not strong enough to do it all alone and dont think anyone is. I started boxing to get out alot of pent up anger but find myself respecting others alot more because of it and channeling my anger on a heavy bag. The toughest bastards I have ever met are the most humble. So much irony involved. I know one thing though, I have learned to be more focused in general and hear a ring in my ear to get my ass to the gym more and more the deeper I get into it. I thank boxing for me on the right path in the last couple years. If you start to get lazy and stray remember how good it feels to walk out of the gym with those endorphins kickin...
my advice for you is to remember how you after a great a workout and have that be your motivation...

even great fighters have bad days and feel like quitting some times. in my nigel benn training thread, nige had some great words for young boxers - he said " it doesn't matter if u have a few off days in training, the idea is to peak on the night " nigel knew his ****, a guy 42 wins with 35 KOs and only 5 losses can't be wrong about his attitude to training

So at Uni' i'm doing 1 day cardio, 1 day weights, 1 day off, or even 1 day light weights. I was knackered and it hurt. I didn't care, in fact, I used to wake up and if I wasn't aching i'd actually be annoyed because I could have pushed myself harder. Recently though i'm just like "**** it". I would say i've had 2 good sessions in the last 2 weeks, a few half assed ones and a few nothing days. I mean 2 days ago I even gave up after about 40 military presses, at the starter stage of a work out - granted my pecs and biceps hurt from the night before, but still. I don't know if it's fatigue or pure laziness. So how do you lot keep yourselves on track?
I used to have a gym buddy, with intentions that we'd motivate each other, but that got ******. He wouldn't want to go to the gym so i'd delay it for him then we wouldn't have gone for like 4 days! Also it's a killer to your stamina when you're with a friend and you're in pain on, say, a rowing machine and then they just stop, it just goes through your mind "ok, I can too".
Listen right, any of you even so much as think of putting "stop complaining you *****" or likewise, keep your finger off the submit button. I already hate you.
