Squats and power cleans for weightlifting.

    Burpees for bodyweight exercises.

i prefer the use of specific exercises that coordinate mass with movement so that the momentum generated can be transferred effeciently and without delay. how much force is transferred in how much time is the key.

a good puncher should be able to drop or severely hurt another person without having a distance between the fist and the opponent. and the fist should not have to move more than an inch or so.

with gloves the principle remains, but is a little harder to do due to the cushion that gloves provide.

Well how do you achieve this? Just standing in front of a bag all day practising?

i think u should work every aspect of ur body so ur can put ur weight behind a punch. i'd seriously work on everything even ya legs. But in particular back muscles and the muscles within ur arm not just ur biceps and ur triceps. At the moment ive been working on power and i've being doin pullups, id do 1 pullup on my back then 1 on my chest and repeat it- theres a technical term dunno what its called though and i do punching motions with weights whilst gently and slightly lunging (again a technical term is used but i aint got a clue lol) but use fairly heavy weights heavy enough to slow the punching motion and light enough to actually be able to use! lol and in the ring id work on punching technique learning to use my shoulder, hips and fully body wieght when throwing a hook or uppercut. And do some shadow boxing with wieghted gloves.

Any olympic lift or variation of it. Lol at burpees. Great conditioning exercise, but won't do much for explosiveness.
