    toughening up the body

    I'm fighting a strong guy who loves to go to the body for my first am fight. ive sparred him a few times and he hits hard down there, im wondering what i can do (besides sit ups or crunches, i do them nightly) to help toughen up my stomach. ive already gotten some advice from people at my gym but im wondering if any of you have any good advice or techniques for it.

    Do like normal crunches and have someone slam the medicine ball to your abs with some power, it might hurt but it will give them more endurance

      yep, i've heard that, how about actually just letting someone punch you in the stomach a few weeks before and letting it heal?

        LOL no, are u being serious??????? cuz if you arent it aint good, the medicine ball is made with the perfect weight and shape for that, having some one punch you might actually hurt you instead of helping you overtime, also try hanging upside down doing sit up and touch your toes and spin side to side while upside down

          best advice

          just knock him out before he gets to your body,...but those medicine ball sit ups work excellent and you should do them

              I was going to say what he said... this highlighted part is good info..thats what i do.

              You can do it with a medicine ball if it gets too easy.

                hard fast uppercuts are your best friend when fighting a guy who likes to burrow into your body, also if hes one of those guys who buries his head in your chest and leans on you as he goes to the body, pivot sharply off any foot and give him a slight push forward, he will stumble off balance and then you can launch your atack, good luck in your firdt fight, im about to have another soon as well
