I gotta agree with J's best fighter theory.

Personally, I started kyokushin karate(combat activity) before I was in pre-school(3-4 ish). Since then I have been all over the place. Never have considered myself a western "boxer" though.

Always a martial artist before anything else.

thanks man. i think it is a general attitude amongst all fighters.

yeah, i too started karate before i was in 3rd grade. and lemme say it helped formed me into not being afraid of physical contact and also had a big part of being physically disciplined.

i eventually graduated to chinese boxing. and the previous sparring and learning kicks and punches as a kid helped me a lot. of course by that time, i had gotten into many fights, tested what worked better, and developed a fighter's mentality.

me too - always a martial artists before anything.

hey, i'll PM in a minute.

Don't know about that mate. Martial arts and boxing kept me out of trouble and stopped me from looking for fights in the street! Nowadays I know it is too easy and I'm more worried about hurting them and it they will deffo hold your training against you in court. I know someone who knocked someone out and they died so they got 2 years for manslaughter after initially being charged for murder. Eventually they got their name and record cleared in High court after numerous appeals, but had served their sentence by then!!!
