i started at 18.. joined gym at 20.
id say ther best age to join at is anything under 20 u will have full potential to grow to the best u can be, its all about hard work.. ppl who start at 8 and box for 10 years... can be just as advanced as a dedicated 24 year old who has been boxing since 20-21.. its all about hard work

thats true but even so i wish i had started at 7 or 8 instead of 12 but 12 is still an ok age i guess

I started at 26 and I am so thankful I did. At 29 (just turned) I am confident that I can take on some pretty decent competition.

stated at 18 im now 19 and have had 2 bouts. lost my 1st by a majority decision and won my 2nd. age doesnt matter that much i spar with a few lads who have been doin it since they was kids as long as u keep working at it you will be fine. ur coaches will look after you aswell they will not match u until ur ready.

I have a 6 year old who wanted to go boxing training when he was 5 (he asked to go I have a 24 and 16 year old who have never been in a boxing gym) and according to his trainers has great potential, hand speed 0.24 seconds (fastest in his U9s group), huge left hook hence he is called 'Thor's Hammer' already sparred with a 7 year old and loved it and has no fear. blah blah blah
The thing is bought him a face guard, Everlast boxing gloves from America ect just how long until he thinks oh sod this and does something else!
