  • Tips for bulking up

    Dudes

I'm 30+, with no interest in boxing as a career (although I love the sport as a spectator), I weigh 140 (10 stone), have no muscle definition, 5 foot 10, and want to get fit and some muscle def. Can you give me some tips on diet, exercise, anything to stop me looking thin and non-muscle bound?

im the same as you at 5'11", i was at about your body weight in may. then by august i got up to 205, with little to any gain in body fat, just by changing my diet. i still wear the same pants size.

I try and get 3000 calories a day, i eat cereal, oatmeal, fruit, tuna fish, peanutbutter, whey shakes, protein bars, chicken, meat or a steak every few days. i try and eat about 4 times a day or so. get as much protein rich stuff as you can. drink a gallon of water a day too, thats key you need that for muscle growth. then just lift alot

Thank you very much. I'll take your advice on board. Anything else you got to add, I'll also take on board.

Because you dont wanna make a career out of boxing, does'nt mean you can't train....find a club and have a go...You'll get skill, fitness but most of all ****ing confidence so you won't give a **** whether your toned to **** or not.

How exactley do you get 3000 calories out of that food. How much do you eat of it and how often? Also if you eat chicken or peanutbutter do you just eat them straight plain? Or do you use other toppings to add on calories?

sorry im not on like a strict diet or anything, and i really eat anything of nutritonal value. i hate chicken plain i always add **** to it. and if i eat fruit like bananas, i put Peanut butter on it or ill put it on bread. the 3000 cal is a goal i try and go for i usually come up short. but those chef boyardee things have like 400 calories alone so thats good
ill eat any kind of meat and then usually ill eat a few of those protein rich power bars, they got 300 calories a pop and 23grams of protein each, so it can add up.
i also get about 800 calories from the milk i drink a day and prob 60 or 70 grams of protein.

ur not too old to box if u can go for heavyweight title at 50 years old

When eating food though do you worry about fat as well? Like you cant just stuff yourself with pizza and chef boyardee etc. So how do you balance eating healthy and getting in calories.

i see what your saying and i dont really eat pizza to often, and the chef boyardee has alot of sodium. if you work out its not going to turn all to fat. i mostly plan my whey shakes and protein bars to fuel my muscles to grow as opposed to that stuff. so id say id eat the fattiest stuff and hour or so before i work out so i can burn it off as opposed to the shakes that id drink after
