6 pack with love handles PARADOX or NOT?

hey guys i'm 5'7 weigh 147. i'm not fat though. i've checked my body fat percentage and it's always around 9 percent. i have broad shoulders and a large chest. i rep 215 when i bench press. i also have a six pack, but i have VERYYYY predominate love handles. i know love handles are supposed to be due to an accumulation of fat, but with 9 percent body fat and a solid pack i don't see why i would have love handles. does anyone know why i can't seem to shed them? is this something genetic, meaning i can't change it the same way i can't change the shape of my nose???? THANKS SO MUCH!

Well how are you measuring your bf%? It could be that you have large lower obliques but that's unlikely. Do you have to tense to see your 6-pack?

you should eat more. Once you get up to about 175 you can worry about a cutting bodyfat, by cleaning your diet. Squat.

it may be genetics. i've also got my abs showing but i've got quite abit of fat on my hips. I think your fat all gathers around your hips and notaround any other part of your body. trying loosing some more weight or uppin the cv work to get your fat down a little more.

well it's true that i don't really do too many exercises for my obliques, but i also know that you cannot rid fat in specific areas of your body. if a person has fat on his arms, he won't get rid of the fat by doing more bicep curls. the only way to trim fat is to do cardio work. what's puzzling about my love handles, and they DO exist (you can even see them from the back), is that i have low body fat percentage and a six pack.
