although i'm new and have no posts because i just started boxing and joined the community not too long ago =\ i done MAJOR research on mouthguards because i'm thinking of getting one soon after one heavy sparring session last week that cut my lip =(

on the forums i went on, it has seem imo that
    www.smartguards.ca
    www.customguards.com
    www.jawzz.com

are the top 3 currently that has pretty good feedback.
jawzz i guess is somewhat new? but it got some good feedback. but as for me, i dont' think i'll buy from them till they get more feedback
customguards is has good feedback on guards and been out for a whlie but the reps didnt' seem that popular.. (no offense john) but i don't judge ^_^ the most affordable price of the three. made the mouthguard for bhop.
smartguards has nothign but good feedback and been out for a while. fantastic looking mouthguards

protech which everyone seems to think of as the best but had major problems with turnaround time seem to have went out of business or soemthing. yeah

    so top 3 ^_^
theres also like rudy tellez who made it for dlh and others but i have not heard reviews on his mouthguards except one person on this forum

what would be the ideal thickness for boxing? because there are a lot of different thicknesses for each company and such

the only place that is true would be sherdog, try mma.tv and search mouthguard see how they feel about Gladiator there. I assume I know you, whats your sherdog posting name, as you obviously know that I'm John.

the sweet spot for any mouthguard is 4mm this is the point of diminishing return. Any more material adds protection at a very low rate while making the guard less comfortable.
