    I dont telegraph my punches if thats what you mean my hands are defensivly chambered anyways so i can block then strike

      chambering's "real" basic function is to grab and/or pull back the attacking hand of the opponent. it also has a dual purpose of helping coordinate the upper body with a strike.

      these are two real basic functions for what you think of when you think of a karate chambering.

      even many karate practitioners don't know all the reasons for chambering.

        many karate practitioners dont know anything at all, some dont even know how to bow right. what other reasons do you know for chambering?
