The Tae Kwon do guys seemed to be a lil more loose, had better footwork. But one thing either stylists weren't prepared for, I gave them angles all day, I pivoted left, pivoted right and they would end up open for roundhouse kicks and hook punches, the lateral movement gave the Tae Kwon do and karate stylists all kinds of problems.
I wasn't really clear on your agreed upcoming sparring session with the Silver Glover. Are you guys sparring under freestyle rules, or just boxing w/ no kicking involved? If its just straight up boxing, I think you're in for a good beatdown, depends if the guy you're sparring is a nice guy or a jerk(lol). I don't see how your Karate experience will help you in the boxing ring. My piece of advice to you is do alot of stepping in and out, stick with the 1-2's, give a lil bit of faking(in boxing it's called feinting). keep it simple!
And watch the boxer's feet from time to time(i'm sure you already know this from your karate)because once the boxer steps in and plants, that is your cue to counter and drop your 1-2's on him.
You said that the guy you're fighting is 20lbs heavier than you, don't try to wrestle with him too much, as this will take alot of energy away from you. You also mentioned that you're a southpaw, the 1-2 is a great combination for any southpaw.
