    weight?

Hi guys, I'm 16 years old, 5 ft 11.5 and weigh 155lbs, I train in white collar not amateur so will be fighting in pro weight classes. My goal is to fight at 154lbs with about 6% bodyfat, I am currently at about 12%.

What should I aim to get up to about 165lbs? Then I can shed the fat and get down to 160lbs which will have me at about 6% bf and then get down to 154lbs for a fight? I'm hoping to fight in january, and am a little unsure at which weight I should be at for fighting at 154lbs!

For example, Israel Vasquez fights at 122lbs and weighs 136lbs etc and Jermain Taylor and Pavlick fight at 160lbs and weight about 185lbs between fights!

    thanks in advance

you dont want to go up weight classes if you natruly 155lbs because 12% body fat isnt mutch so id concentrat on my boxing skills more than my weight.

ur not gonna go up 10 pounds and then drop 5 and lose 6% body fat from that buddy. obviously u can go lower than 154 if u have high body fat. aim for 147, or 140...

I don't want to be lower I want to fight at 154lbs, I'm also trying to get bigger for confidence issues, but I lose fat very easily so when I get up to whatever weight I need to then I'll drop down to around 6% that's only about 6lbs

Lets see i think i know what your sayin you want to fight at 154lbs? and you bf is 12% so what ya aiming to do is lose that 6% body fat and replace it with muscle?

exactly but I know a lot of fighters for example Vasquez will fight at 122lbs, but walk around at 136lbs, he'll lose all the fat so he's 128lbs then he'll drain down to 122lbs for the fight.

I'm asking should I do this? I'm at 155lbs, should I bulk up to 165lbs, then drop the fat so i'm at around 160lbs and then drain down to 154lbs for the fight. I really want to be bulkier for confidence too.

again, i wouldnt recommend this. why not walk around at the weight you wanna fight at. if ur 155 and wanna fight at 154 and have 12 % bf, then jus fight at 154 with what u got. 12 % isnt alot. if u wanna lose body fat expect to lose more weight. u cant jus gain 10 pounds then drop 5 and lose 6 % body fat man, it aint gonna happen. dont worry about being bulky. being bulky doesnt mean being strong. id rather be small and strong, then big and not as strong. let ur body do whatever it wants to do as far as shaping you for ur natural weight. ur young dude dont **** with ur body with strict diets and all that jus yet. see what happens down the road...
