yes im training at a gym! just want to get better as soon as possible! and the body shot was right on the ribs! bruised them bad!

But you have to say what punch he hit you with and how.

"Someone punched me on the chin, how do I stop that?" is a hard question to answer.

it was a right uppercut / hook to the left side of my body! right on the lower ribcage!

If he hit you on the side it is not b/c of your elbows (unless you had them extremely wide!). I'm assuming you threw a jab and he slipped to the outside?
