Hey, the main thing that I can say it for you to jab, jab, JAB. Becsue I noticed that you seemed to follow the guy around, but not with any punches. He had reall low hands, so even jabbing would have kept him much busier. Thats the difference between walking DOWN a guy and walking INTO a guy. Just throw some jabs. Other than that, i gotta give you props on your lateral movement, mate. You knew how to cut him off... now it's a matter of moving your hands when you get him cornered like that.
Wheres the second round? ****, i've been stopped too. Its nothing fun. Just got to get over it mentally and you'll be alright.
I aggree with k-nine you should be jabbing in when you following your opponet.
And you did catch you opponet but then he would hold no and run or jab away. I wouldn't have follwed him so, wasting so much energy and getting hit by his shots that by you following him are now twice as hard.
Imo, when you're facing a runner, and it was clear he wasn't hitting you but jabbing you. I would slow down the pace see where he is going. Step back and let him follow you so then you can jump on him and punch him back.
You still need to work on head movement. But you were doing good.
Forgot to add. Your not as robotic as before. I used to box like that too, a bit stiff. But i got some advice from my boxing team-mate and pass it on to you. It helped me out. So you wont be so stiff and be more flexable and so your opponet doesn't know what your going to do next. Practice staying on the balls of your feet and step back and forth, side to side, practice this and you will be more flexable in the ring and those simple movements will get your opponet wondering what you are going to do next.
That sucks, ref didn't even give you a full count. I guess he didn't expect a young amature to be smart enough to take the full 9 seconds to recover from a shot. The ref was just too unexperianced.
You just got caught in the middle of an exchange. He caught you because you had your head up high. In the video you can see he stayed low so it'd be harder for you to hit him while he was swinging up and covering you sight with punchs. At that momoent you need to lower your head protect yourself and push him off of you. Or stay in close duck your head, bob and weave his punchs and just counter off of him. When your in close and have your head down but still aware and looking to see the punchs its going to be hard for a fighter to keep punching or landing on you. Chavez use to get reall close on a fighter and punch through the holes of his opponets offence.
You did good. I wouldn't be worry about this fight much. Rather look at it like a learning experiance.
I read that you lost 3 in a row. I haven't seen those fights, but i think it thats so, then you have to just practice more, and get better sparring.
Your opponet tricked you in this fight. He boxed the first round then all of a sudden came out bombs away. It was his way of trying to get you by surprise. Too bad you had a ref that didn't know what he was doing and didn't give you the full ten count.

Haha you don't say? That was the biggest thing that shocked me during the fight. One round he ran, then at random he came on and tried to kill me. Next time I fight him I think I may just go right at him and try to KO him savagely, and get low and bob and weave.
god damn, that black dude was good..how many fights you got? i say you should of jabbed more..his hands were low..though its easier said then done since you were nervous and took alot of energy from you..the more punches you throw in a fight the more chance you got in winning..

We'll see.
Why should you change your style? Just add to it. Be aware of what the other fighter may do. When i boxed amature, i also kept aware that the other guy may all of a sudden explode on you. I've seen it happen in the pros a lot of times.
