why do heavyweights in the amateurs seem to throw leather much faster?

    why do heavyweights in the amateurs seem to throw leather much faster?

    the gloves are heavier, no? so that can't be it.

    is it because they tend to slap more? is it because they weigh significantly less (i assume) than they do years later when they turn pro? does a heavyweight in his teens just have more ability to snap punches than later on in life when his frame is more filled out?

      Heavyweights today can knock each other out with a snigle punch. These aren't the old days, they have to fight conservatively. Don't mistake it for less skill or training.
