  • no carb/low carb diet

anyone tried it? what are the positives/negatives. i did it last year for wrestling to make a weight and i made it easily but i got a lot weaker... at the same time i wasnt training/liftiing or doing anything really.
what if i went low carb and still worked out? not even try to lose weight (ill still eat a lot of meat/protein drinks)... just lose some fat.

Most of my weight loss happened after I cut out sugar. Completely. Black coffee, peppermint tea, fresh juice (from my juicer) and water were all I drank, aside from the occasional glass of wine. No sodas, no sweetened drinks, no store-bought juice.

I have not gone so far as to cut out bread, rice, etc., especially bread, as my wife is a gifted baker. I consider myself pretty disciplined, but it's near impossible to go low-carb when you wake up to

    - and it's right next to the toaster.

    But I digress.

I don't know about cutting out carbs completely. You need some carbs to keep the machine running; they are high-octane fuel, if you will. I suggest you first cut sugar and see what happens.

you can lower your intake and cut out the bad ones like sugar, juice, bread, rice etc and go for better ones like brown rice, oaths, whole wheat pasta and lots lots off veggies but i wouldnt cut it out.

I like my carbs. I also don't gorge myself like I used to. I can eat an entire large pizza by myself. Now I just reduce myself to chicken, turkey, some steak, protein oriented stuff and try to stay away from sugar...You know, soda, white bread, candy, etc etc. Although you do have to treat yourself or your body will freak out on you and you'll end up pigging out on those things.

Cutting Carbs out of the picture won't work. Cutting them down and cutting out the sugars is a key to not only cutting fat storage, but living healthier all together. Try this on for size take your body weight divide that by 4, and you have a good amount of carbs per gram to take in on a daily basis. Don't go over that number for about a month, Then if you are training, You can move up to dividing your body weight by 3.

I am on it right now(low carb) and it's actually really good stuff.

As Fraidy said, cut the sugar completely too.

But you gotta have cheat days too(where you can eat whatever you want)

Absolutely, better switch to vegetables for vitamins.

Seriously, the sugar from cookie and the suger from an apple is essentially the same sugar.

but i realized tehres even 15 grams of sugar in milk. so i shouldn't have that either?should i completely cut out sugar or cut it down. and if i need to cut it down, how many grams per day of sugar should i get.
