    Ankle weights good?

When i use them and i take it off i feel 5x faster but then i also heard in the long run it could mess up your knees and ankles is that true? should i use them? i only use them while shadowboxing but if it is OK to use, is there any other good times to use them??

From what I know on physio and musculatur, a lot of use of ankle weights would be damaging, although I little should be fine. I'm not an expert on that subject though, so I could be wrong, but I'd say some light use could be fine.

Like if I were to jog with them maybe once a week would it be bad? I know someone who jogged with them everyday and did complain of ankle problems but he thought it was his shoes.

Once a week should be fine. They cause more injury in the repetitive-strain kinda way though, so I'd be anxious about goin' for a long job with them on.

I have heard they are bad for your knees... Running or jumping with them on will stress the ligaments... Just don't do it often and use light weight and it should be fine... Make sure you stretch first too...

mayweather uses them and he seems to be fine. anyway, i would say going thru ur whole workout with heavy ankle weights would be bad, but 2 or 3 times a week, wearin light weights for bag work or light shadowboxing should be benefit. personally, i use a weighted vest (x-vest) and some plyometric shoes (jump soles) 3 times a week for shadowboxing, bag work, and calisthenics, i think its great cuz the vest makes u work like ur one weightclass bigger (or however much weight is in there) and u develop speed and power like ur that weight, maybe its mental i dono if its scientifically true, but it certainly does work wonders for me! also, the plyo shoes add explsoviness to ur calves and make ur feet faster.

weighted vests are money. Having wrist weights is good too (well, not ALL the time). It's the ankle weights than can cause problems, especially if you have some knee/ankle problems already.
