for the past 6 months, ive been training like im training for a world title fight.
but ive been training for no fight, only to begin my journey in the fight game..
a year ago i was an out of shape smoker/drinker, who just partyed and ate a lot and ****, didnt care about exercise or sports.. ever since i started training for boxing, it was mainly to let my anger out and punches due to stress at home, troubled teen years.. but boxing has helped me get through so much and it has changed me and made me a better person, and i always knew i had what it takes to fight, and now im READY, and im joining my gym next month and starting my amatuer boxing career asap, we will get all the paperwork and **** worked out, i dont know how that works but that will be done in may/june, and im gunna be sucking in all the gym knowledge from may-sept and hopefully by september ill have a fight under my belt.
im so hungry and ready to box, im first off a fan of the sport and a student to the game, i admire any boxer who can pull off a nice victory and i cannot wait to get in there.
im 20 at the end of may. so ill be entering the gym, and begin training and sparring right when i turn 20...
i might wanna go pro, but thats something only time can tell... until now i plan to stay in the amatuers for 2-4 years. i have no goals to become an amatuer champion or tourny winner / trophy winner, none of that, i just want amatuer experience, to learn and fight, and be in all types of boxing matches. wars, boxing outside speed fights, drop guys and watch em get up, get dropped and get up.
im ready for it all. im so ready.
MY QUESTION TO THE AMATUERS OUT THERE:
WHEN U DECIDED TO FIGHT N STEPPED UP AT UR GYM N SAID, HEY TRAINER I WANNA FIGHT AMATUERS... HOW LONG DID IT TAKE UNTIL U GOT EVERYTHING LEGAL AND U FOUGHT UR FIRST FIGHT ? i dont wanna wait over 2-3 months, im ready now.
Punch drunk monk, just be very careful you don't be discouraged it's not good for the sport for motivated people like you to quit, we need guys like you if you take a hard time sparring just think about it you get one life, physical pain will fade but those thoughts of 'if' you could have ever been a good boxer never will.
yah ur right. i wont lose my motivation. ****** *******s like RESPECT make me train hard.
respect u got nuttin better to do but go on interner forums and try to fit in with boxers or other forum peeps. i dont see u talkin boxing. ur jus one of those peeps who stays around to talk ****. get a life bud. i train hard , everyday, and work hard. i come on here to learn from others and talk boxing respectfully with everyone. seriously forums dont need ppl like. get the **** outta here u ***** asss punk id ****in smash u
thanks for all the info man. and for sure id love to spar and learn some tricks from trick :P
your right too maybe im rushing a little, but i just feel like i shoulda got into this sport a long time ago. but whe ni stop and think about it, all u are right. it'll take more time, but since i made this post. i knew i was ready to commit myself 100% to boxing. i use to question it , back n forth, yes or no, but i recently decided life is short, im gunna do everything i have passion for, and give it all i got.
y wait? its only amateur.
i had my first after 5 weeks and managed to come out with a win.
However, i do train very night for 2 hrs + weights and morning sprints every couple days.
I fought up a weight class (64) against someone almost twice my age (he was 32, me 17).
The longer u wait the more anxious u will become. Give it 2 months, have ur first fight, get it outta the way. Use the first one to get a feel for competitiv fighting. When u r boxing for the win, it is a lot diff to sparring. sparring is easy compared to competing and even sparring 4 rounds is harder than training at a high intensity for 2 hrs.
