i would do it but it is a little dangerous. A simple slip of that thing and you could be seriously injured.

thats why yo should start with light sledge's. you can buy them from 4 to 20lbs so it shouldn't be a prob.

light weights should start with the 4 or 6's and heavys should start on the 8's or 12's IMO

you can find a tire laying around somewhere, then take hem to a park and there you go.

I went up to Big O Tire last summer and just asked for a tire.
They have to pay to dispose of the tire anyway so i was helping them out.

I walked in there and said "Whats up man, can I have one of the tires you're going to throw away"?

Dude was like " uh.... what are you gonna do with it"?

"Im going to hit it with a sledge hammer."

              "Ok thats cool".

****, i went out to the back and picked out a 275/55/20 and it still had some great tread on it.

I use a 12-lb. sledge at work for demo and driving posts, and after a few minutes with that sucker you are praying for death. You do not need a 20-lb. sledgehammer.

Id like to try this, but as aprevious poster said, I have nowhere to do it. I may get a sledgehammer to do finger walks with though. Anyone suggest a weight for that?

Heres a list of affordable sledgehammers. Pity I have no other use for them other than finger walks.
