Ouch! Whacked for the first time!

Yup. I was a heavy at the time. I just freaked out. It wasn't even that it hurt -- it did, but that wasn't what made it so traumatic -- it just blew a fuse inside me or something. I think I was in shock. The guy who'd clocked me told me, "I wouldn't have hit you that hard if I didn't think you was man enough to take it."

Even so, it was not one of my prouder moments.

But I came back the next day. That was a proud moment.

Well I'm new to this, but it seem to me that coming back the next day is a victory.

I'll tell you what, I was in the third round of sparring and I was pretty gassed, the right hand stunned me and my nose was numb from the jab and I could taste the blood. Miserable right? NO WAY. I was on such a high from that. I think it was the most alive I have ever felt.
