There are many reasons why you shouldn't take steriods, but it all boils down to this: if you take steriods you WILL die earlier. You'll probably die many years earlier. Maybe if you are very rich so you can buy the best stuff and have expert advice, you might only die 7-8 years earlier.

I think that anyone who is willing to die earlier in order to have bigger muscles has some huge insecurity issues and needs to get some help. I'm being serious, if they are that obsessed with their physique psychological help is necessary.

Taking steriods shows that men can be just as obsessed over their bodies as women. Steriod use is like the male equivalent to anorexia.

Among bodybuilders there is a well-known psychological phenomenon that has been nicknamed "biggerexia." It is exactly like anorexia in its pathology except it is reversed; gigantic bodybuilders actually look at themselves in the mirror and think they look puny, the same way that anorexic women look at themselves in the mirror and think they look fat.

I think I got it, but the difference is, I am actually small.
But yeah I got this syndrom, where no matter how much I train, I see that my body is flawed somehow, same was for me in boxing but about my boxing skills.
I know my mind is playing tricks on me, but still.

That may sound like bull****, but he's right. The proper name for it escapes me now, but "biggerexia" is now a documented medical problem.

Oh, and steroids make that worse too.

I heard about the syndrome as well, and I think I got it.

I'm just a vain bastard. I'm in better shape than 90% (maybe 95%) of American men my age -- not just physique, but heart rate, BP, flexibility, lung function, practical strength (if there's a measure of such things), endurance -- but I know I can always do better, lift more, work harder. I'm never satisfied but I'm not insane enough about it to try 'roids. I can see the allure, however. I completely understand why people would take steroids. I don't condone it, but I can understand it.

i could understand why people would want to take steroids....i cant understand why they actually would..i mean its a drug just like any other..in my eyes a person that takes steroids is no better then a person who uses heroin....its the same thing...the mental addiction is exactly the same....

when you do something, or in this case take something, you have to think of the results...the good and the bad...and in the end, theres more bad then good....and i hatin' on any 1 does steroids...every 1 is there own man...we all have our weakness's and insecurities, but like any other drug, it wont actually fix your problems, it'll just mask them.
